Position

I work in a dual role as a Managing Knowledge Lawyer and a Senior Lawyer in our rockhopper team. Prior to this I was a Managing Associate in the employment team, having qualified into the team over a decade ago.

As Managing Knowledge Lawyer, I work in a team of specialist lawyers, keeping colleagues and clients up to date on the latest and upcoming developments to employment law and policy. My role includes providing internal training, supporting with technical legal queries, writing and editing articles and supporting with podcast content and production

I have a particular interest in TUPE and have experience advising employers throughout corporate transactions and outsourcings. This focus has continued in my knowledge role, where I regularly provide TUPE updates to the employment team, maintain know-how documents and have supported in responding to government consultations

Recent areas of focus in my work have been on neurodiversity, zero hours contracts, holiday pay and the right to disconnect. I have previously been on secondment to both a US bank, working in the EMEA employment legal team, and to an international law firm, working in the HR team.

Career

I qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and joined Lewis Silkin’s Cardiff office in the Employment, Immigration and Reward division. I advise employers on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters across a variety of sectors. I provide day to day advisory support to clients and also have a wealth of experience managing complex Employment Tribunal proceedings.

Employment My recent experience includes advising employers on a range of issues such as redundancy, changing terms and conditions and dealing with disciplinary and grievance procedures, including advising on strategy at all stages and helping negotiate the exits of key employees. I have handled a number of complex discrimination claims, for example, an equal pay, sex and age discrimination claim. I have also successfully represented a number of clients at judicial mediation.

Advertising & Marketing I regularly advise clients in the advertising and marketing industry and am aware of the particular concerns of clients operating in this industry. My particular experience in this industry includes advising on the enforceability of restrictive covenants, restructurings and TUPE.
