Position

Elliott is a partner and the head of the property disputes team, with expertise in a wide range of property litigation matters, including matters under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, boundary disputes, rights of way and other easement disputes, claims for adverse possession (acting for applicants and respondents), trust of land disputes, possession proceedings (residential and commercial), forfeiture and debt recovery, matters under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 (section 5 notices) and advising clients on exercising break options.

Elliott is regularly instructed in high-value and complex property disputes for multinational and national companies, commercial landlords, portfolio residential landlords, management companies and high net worth individuals.

He is a talented lawyer who is pragmatic and always strives to achieve the best outcome for his clients. Elliott is objective driven and works with clients from the outset of matters to develop a strategy to ensure effective and commercial litigation. In respect of his commercial clients, Elliott sees himself as an extension of the client’s business, working closely with the client to achieve its objectives. In respect of his individual clients, Elliott considers his best skill to be his ability to listen and advise his clients in a straightforward manner.

Elliott won the Junior Lawyer of the Year award at the Bucks, Berks & Oxon Law Society Awards in 2019.

Career

Elliott joined B P Collins as a paralegal in October 2014, before starting his training contract with the firm in September 2015. He qualified in October 2017 into the property dispute resolution team and in May 2023, Elliott was promoted to senior associate.

Prior to joining B P Collins and qualifying into the property disputes team, Elliott worked as a paralegal at Nestlé S.A. assisting the intellectual property team with protecting the company’s brands.
