Career
Giorgi Gabitashvili serves as Head of the Litigation Practice at GLCC Law Firm. He commenced his tenure with the firm in 2021 as a legal intern and has systematically advanced through successive levels of professional development, consistently demonstrating exceptional dedication and sophisticated legal expertise.
Giorgi possesses comprehensive practical experience in litigation, with particular proficiency in formulating strategic legal approaches, developing substantiated legal positions, and conducting effective case management. He has successfully resolved numerous matters through both contentious proceedings and negotiated settlements. His settlement processes are frequently enhanced by strategically implemented interim measures, which substantially expedite negotiations and streamline resolution procedures.
He provides representation for the firm's clients across all levels of Georgian courts, arbitration tribunals, administrative bodies, and tax dispute resolution authorities.
Giorgi has established recognition as a distinguished young practitioner in insolvency law, a field that has assumed increased prominence following recent legislative reforms in Georgia. Through his active participation, multiple insolvency proceedings have achieved favorable outcomes, encompassing both the successful approval of rehabilitation plans and the efficient completion of bankruptcy procedures.
When clients encounter financial or legal difficulties, Giorgi proactively initiates negotiations, frequently securing resolutions that preclude the necessity for protracted and burdensome litigation.
He is distinguished by his innovative approach to legal practice and demonstrates confidence in exploring emerging legal concepts while addressing complex jurisprudential challenges.
Giorgi holds a Master's degree in Law. His thesis examined one of the most intricate aspects of Georgian tax law — the doctrine of the "fictitious substitute taxpayer." He initiated research on this subject following his involvement in a case presenting analogous legal issues. The constitutional concerns he articulated in his academic work subsequently influenced the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, which determined certain elements of the doctrine to be constitutionally impermissible.
Giorgi maintains an unwavering commitment to continuous professional development and actively pursues opportunities to enhance his expertise and experience through both practical application and scholarly research.
