Position

Marian van Eck is a Founding with over 25 years of experience in law, including approximately 12 years as partner at a prestigious law firm on Amsterdam’s Zuidas.

She specializes in complex and (media-)sensitive change processes involving trade unions, works councils, supervisory boards and executive management. Her expertise covers large collective redundancies, complex business transfers ranging from 10 to 1,000 employees, harmonization of employment conditions, corporate restructuring and numerous works council processes. She has also designed appropriate participation structures in both national and international companies.

Marian advises at board and supervisory level, but also works closely with works councils and HR directors to develop strategy for collective bargaining agreements and redundancy schemes. She is known for her ability to oversee the entire field, her understanding of business political dynamics, and for creating innovative, tailored solutions together with her business partners.

Marian has a distinguished career in Dutch law, spanning over 25 years, primarily at leading Dutch firms. She has advised multinational and domestic clients on large-scale workforce restructurings, works council establishment, employment aspects of transactions and collective dismissal matters.

Her professional recognition includes repeated invitations to lecture at the Grotius Academie (collective dismissal law) and as a guest lecturer on modern employee participation at Nyenrode Business University. She is regularly cited in Legal 500, where clients and interviewees consistently describe her as a pragmatic, strategic and highly approachable lawyer, able to combine a bird’s-eye view with detailed technical expertise.

Her work has been particularly highlighted in collective redundancies, transfer of undertakings, negotiations with unions and works councils, and designing participation and governance structures.
