Career

I've specialised in personal injury law for over 25 years and lead the Complex Personal Injury team in Scotland. I'm accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in personal injury law and I’m also a Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

I specialise in serious injury and abuse claims and have a long history of successfully working on personal injury and international claims. I’m committed to standing beside and helping people who have been affected by these difficult and traumatic issues get the justice they deserve. I’m especially dedicated to leading groundbreaking litigation for the benefit of child abuse survivors and have been certified in Child-Centred Practice. My work often involves complex, sensitive cases requiring both legal expertise and a compassionate, client-focused approach.

Working with the massive support network at Irwin Mitchell, I’m able to help injured clients realise their full potential despite having experienced life changing and complex injuries and situations. I take pride in building strong, trusted relationships with clients and guiding them through every stage of their recovery journey.

I was Chair of ‘Restoring the Balance of Justice’ and helped lead a campaign involving national and international experts and campaigners. We worked to overcome the barriers to justice in Scotland for people who’ve experienced stalking and harassment.

I was a member of the Ogden Working Party and contributed to the 8th Edition and was Chair of the Civil Justice Committee for the Law Society for 10 years. I’m currently an Executive Director of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers and Secretary for the Forum of Complex Injury Solicitors.

I’m also a committee member of The Scottish Head Injury Forum and a Trustee of the WS Society.
