Eric is qualified to practice law in both Hong Kong and England and Wales. He has frequently assisted Mainland China companies in re-organisation and provided advice on initial public offerings and post-listing transactions and ongoing compliance on securities markets in Hong Kong and overseas. Eric has also participated in numerous joint venture and acquisition projects involving both China and Hong Kong, including the restructuring and acquisition of listed companies. In addition, he represents Chinese companies doing business and making investment in Hong Kong and overseas, and provides annual retainer services to clients with advice and solutions to a wide range of legal issues.

In recent years, Eric has served as legal counsel for many company liquidation and restructuring schemes, providing different restructuring and rescue plans to seek the most favourable solution for companies, shareholders, liquidators, and creditors, and to reduce the risks posed by liquidation and poor financial situations.

In the area of banking and finance transactions, Eric also has extensive experience, particularly in serving as a consultant for cross-border project financing and assisting clients in providing professional legal advice and support on various aspects of secured and unsecured loans, including bilateral and syndicated loans, construction loans, and merger and acquisition loans.  Eric was previously a Senior Legal Adviser of the Bank of China (Hong Kong).

Eric is familiar with China business and is a China Appointed Attesting Officer appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China.  He is also part of the first batch of Hong Kong lawyers who set up a joint venture law firm in the Shenzhen Qianhai Cooperation Zone, and obtained a working permit issued by the Guangdong Ministry of Justice which allows him to practise Hong Kong law in mainland China.
