Career

Ian is a Managing Partner and Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Construction Department of Ince & Co.  His principal areas of practice include complex cross-border commercial and construction disputes, international arbitration, regulatory compliance, restructuring and insolvency.

Ian is an experienced litigator and his practice area covers a broad range of contentious matters.

Ian and his team have been recognised as being able to offer flexible, pragmatic and commercially viable solutions for clients.  Over the past two decades, he is trusted by high net worth individuals, international conglomerates, listed companies, financial institutions and professional insolvency practitioners, and has participated in a wide range of Court and arbitration proceedings (including international arbitration at HKIAC, SHIAC and LCIA, etc).

Further, Ian and his team frequently represent licensed corporations and senior officers of listed companies on regulatory compliance and white collar crime related matters, including but not limited to handling investigations and disciplinary actions (including legal proceedings in Court) commenced by the SFC, HKMA and ICAC, etc.

In the insolvency sector, Ian and his team have been involved in various high-profile cases, in which he acted for petitioning creditors, international banks and financial institutions, bondholders, institutional investors, debtor companies (including existing management) and liquidators/trustees.  Ian has also developed strategic professional relationship with various market participants, and thus is able to offer comprehensive services in every winding-up/bankruptcy and restructuring cases.

Additionally, Ian has extensive experience in handling construction related matters (both contentious and non-contentious, such as contractual claims, industrial summonses, as well as general advisory works on construction safety, commercial and construction agreements).  His clients include leading main contractors and subcontractors in Hong Kong.
