Position

Emil Brockstedt Marburger advises private companies and public institutions on all aspects of data protection/GDPR, including data protection law analyses, data mapping, compliance projects, risk assessments, data transfers, contracts, supplier audits, and more.

He also has extensive experience in handling cyberattacks, not only from a legal perspective but also with a strong focus on and understanding of the practical and administrative aspects that naturally arise in the aftermath of cyber incidents, including, for example, communicative and strategic challenges. In this context, Emil is also engaged in proactive cyber regulation and related legal issues, particularly regarding obligations and challenges arising from NIS2, DORA, and the Cyber Resilience Act.

Building on compliance-related aspects, Emil is increasingly engaged in the new digital regulatory framework, especially the AI Act, as well as other regulations such as the Data Act, the Data Governance Act, and the European Health Data Space. He also advises on digital marketing with a focus on the Danish Marketing Practices Act, the ePrivacy Directive, and the Danish Executive Order on Cookies.

As a sector-specific focus, Emil has in-depth industry knowledge of the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, and telecom sectors, where he has advised several of Denmark’s largest companies within these areas.

Emil also has substantial experience with M&A/transactions, providing advice on all aspects of the process, particularly due diligence and input on transaction documents.

In addition, Emil has previously worked with general compliance, legal investigations, as well as labour and employment law, giving him thorough insight into data protection within HR.
