As part of his work, Dr. Christoph Oertel advises on international contract and commercial law, as well as in the areas of corporate law (including mergers and acquisitions) and litigation. As a member of the French Desk at Brödermann Jahn, he particularly supports clients from French-speaking countries in their business activities in Germany and German clients in their business activities in the French-speaking world.

Dr. Christoph Oertel's work now also includes providing advice on contract law issues relating to software licensing, particularly on behalf of customers of well-known software manufacturers. He strives to consistently achieve significant added value for his clients in this complex and inherently cross-border environment.

In 2025, Dr. Christoph Oertel founded the association LaTechHambourg e.V. with friends from the French tech scene, which will serve as the supporting association for the LaFrenchTech community in Hamburg for the next term of office. LaFrenchTech is an initiative of the French Ministry of Economy to promote French start-ups in France and abroad.

He organizes and leads seminars on legal training on new trends and challenges in contract drafting in a cross-border business environment.
