Andrea has advised the NHS and the healthcare sector in real estate matters for over 20 years.

Andrea’s key area of expertise is advising the NHS on real estate transactions. Andrea has over 20 years of experience in advising the NHS on all aspects of real estate transactions. She has a particular interest in Estates Outsourcings, Capital Development Projects and site disposals for development.

She regularly gives talks on NHS real estate matters, including speaking last year at NHS Confederation on private sector investment into NHS Real Estate with PWC and Assura.

Key recent transactions:

Advising London International Patient Services in relation to a private health clinic within at Battersea Power Station; A major £46 million Community Diagnostic Centre in Stoke (developed from a former Sainsbury’s store); Estates Outsourcings nationwide; The acquisition of a major industrial site for the production of PPE during Covid; PET scanner developments; Various new builds at NSEC including the New Health and Wellbeing Centre and Sterilisation Unit. Selling former hospital sites for residential development

Andrea is known for her commercial straightforward advice and always seeking to work collaboratively to ensure that transactions are delivered to time and budget. She is also always keen to look for ways to assist estates professionals working within this complex field to overcome the often unique real estate issues that the NHS estate presents and to provide training to help upskill her clients.

Andrea was appointed as a Founding Member of the Durham University Law Alumni Association (her alma mater) earlier this year which boasts a former Lord Chancellor and cabinet member amongst its membership Distinguished Alumni who are also Founder Members - Durham University.

Andrea read English Language and Linguistics (French subsid) at Durham University. Following university, she was employed by the Japanese government on the JET scheme and spent a year in Japan teaching English at a High School outside of Tokyo. On her return to the UK, she completed a Masters in Phonology at the University of Essex, and the CPE conversion course and LPC at the College of Law (York).

Andrea is married and has two teenage children and a golden retriever. She is also a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
