Career

Rebecca trained at Capsticks and qualified as a Solicitor in 2005. She spent the first part of her career advising NHS organisations on their obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000 as well as clinical negligence claims and issues related to consent to treatment and other healthcare advisory matters.

Rebecca was promoted to Partner at Capsticks in 2012, where she managed a team of lawyers specialising in clinical negligence litigation. Rebecca has particular expertise in claims involving maternity services and neurological injury as well as cases arising out of serious incidents within NHS organisations. She has assisted a number of NHS organisations with internal investigations following adverse events which have involved the police, GMC, HSE and CQC.

Rebecca joined Hill Dickinson in 2019 where she leads the London team specialising in clinical negligence. Rebecca continues to advise NHS Resolution on claims involving catastrophic injury, maternity services and sensitive or novel incidents. She is passionate about patient safety initiatives relating to maternity care in particular and has worked closely with NHSR’s Early Notification Team since its inception, including as an advisor on operational and policy issues.
