Position

Jemima Kearney is an Associate at Vardags, advising on all aspects of private family law. She is known for her meticulous preparation, strategic clarity, and empathetic client care.  

Jemima has acted in a number of high-profile and complex cases, including the widely reported Williams v Williams [2024] EWFC 275, where she played a key role in securing a series of robust court orders against a non-compliant spouse in a high-value financial remedy dispute. 

Career

Jemima joined Vardags through the Graduate Training Programme and quickly established herself as a rising talent in the firm’s London office. Her practice includes divorce and jurisdictional disputes, financial claims following relationship breakdown, private law children matters, and international family law and cross-border litigation. 

Jemima has represented a wide range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, and is particularly adept at handling cases involving hidden assets, offshore structures, and reputational sensitivities. 

Jemima has authored case summaries and legal commentary on cross-border divorce and financial remedy issues, and has contributed to the Financial Remedies Journal as well as LexisNexis. 

In 2025, Jemima was shortlisted for the LexisNexis Young Family Law Solicitor of the Year award.

Education

Jemima read Jurisprudence at Somerville College, Oxford. She completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP Law School with Distinction.
