Partner, Head of the Intellectual Property Practice

Adv. Omer Carmel is the Head of the Intellectual Property Practice and Co-Head of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) field at Amit Pollak Matalon, and is a partner in the firm’s Hi-Tech & Venture Capital Department.

Omer combines legal expertise with business acumen and strategic thinking in both legal and commercial matters.

Omer represents high-tech companies and entrepreneurs across the full spectrum of intellectual property (IP) rights issues, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. He specializes in building comprehensive IP protection and commercialization strategies, and advises companies on how to minimize exposure to IP infringement while assisting with Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses and coexistence agreements.

Omer’s extensive IP litigation experience includes representing companies in proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office, including trademark and patent enforcement and defense proceedings, as well as opposition and cancellation actions. He specializes in both domestic and cross-border ownership disputes concerning patents and trademarks.

Omer is an expert on the legal aspects of Artificial Intelligence. He advises companies on the development and deployment of AI tools, the use of data to train AI models, and adherence to evolving regulatory requirements.
