Nuno Cabeçadas is the Managing Partner of Miranda & Associados and brings over two decades of experience advising on complex transactional and regulatory matters across Lusophone and Sub‑Saharan Africa. His practice focuses on Banking, Corporate, Energy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Mining, and PPP & Project Finance, where he is widely recognised for his strategic insight and technical depth.
He began his career at Miranda in 2002 and spent six years in the firm’s associated office in Maputo, Mozambique, gaining first‑hand experience in the country’s legal and regulatory landscape. After returning to Lisbon, he progressed from Senior Associate to Partner and later assumed leadership of the firm as Managing Partner in 2025.
Nuno holds a Law degree from the University of Coimbra and an MBA from the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão. He is admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association and has also taught Oil & Gas Law at the Centro de Estudos Judiciários.
Throughout his career, he has been repeatedly recognised as a leading lawyer in Mozambique, noted for his role in major transactions and complex regulatory mandates. He is a regular speaker at international conferences on energy and natural resources, addressing topics such as petroleum and mining legislation, fiscal reforms, and emerging trends across Western and Southern Africa.
He is also the author of numerous articles and book chapters on foreign investment, infrastructure development, and regulatory frameworks in Lusophone Africa, including multiple contributions to international mining law publications.
