About
The Cayman Islands office was opened in late 2020 with Robert Jones as the sole attorney. The office has since grown in breadth and depth with the addition of Partners Jennifer Colegate from Collas Crill, Adam Crane from HSM Chambers and Fleur O'Driscoll from Forbes Hare. They are supported by Senior Associates Nicosia Lawson from Mourant and Shula Sbarro from Bedell Cristin and Associate Nia Statham from Collas Crill. The team are widely regarded for their experience, expertise and client-orientated approach in cross -jurisdictional commercial and trust disputes, insolvency and restructuring, web3 digital asset disputes and asset recovery matters.
Building upon the expertise established in our Jersey office, the Cayman Islands dispute resolution team has considerable experience working on high profile insolvency, trust, and commercial disputes, including but not limited to: AHAB v Saad, Platinum Partners liquidation, XiO Fund I LP, Primeo Fund, In the Matter of a Trust known as the O Trust, and China Shanshui Group Limited v Tianrui (International) Holding Company. The multi-disciplinary team also has experience in section 238 fair value proceedings: In the Matter of Qunar Cayman Islands Limited, In the Matter of KongZhong Corporation, and in the Matter of Zhaopin Limited.
The Cayman Islands dispute team has significant experience in the hedge fund, private equity fund and captive insurance sectors as well as labour and employment matters.
