Position

Federico Venturi Ferriolo is a distinguished professional in sports law, with broad experience advising on regulatory frameworks, governance and complex cross-border matters. As Head of the Firm’s Sports Law practice, he supports clients in navigating an evolving legal and commercial landscape and regularly acts on significant transactions and disputes in the sports industry. His practice includes assisting on regulatory compliance and eligibility issues, advising on international player transfers, and dealing with contractual issues and the development of clients’ commercial strategies, such as sponsorships, licensing and image rights agreements.

Federico frequently represents clients before the dispute resolution chambers of FIFA and other federations, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne and the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT).

Before joining LCA in 2020, Federico gained experience at international law firms, including Withers Studio Legale in Milan, Elite Law in Lugano and Squire Patton Boggs in London. These roles helped shape his ability to support clients in sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional matters with a practical and solution-focused approach.

Memberships

Federico contributes to the development of sports law both in practice and through academic engagement. He serves as scientific coordinator of the Sports Law section of the Master in Design, Construction and Management of Sports Facilities at Politecnico University of Milan and lectures on Sport Law and Sport Justice at the University of Milan.

He writes regularly on sports law topics and is the author of the Italian chapter of The Sports Law Review. Among other publications, he has co-authored the Manuale di Diritto Sportivo (Giappichelli) and Il Settore Calcistico Giovanile (Franco Angeli), as well as other manuals on sports law and contracts. Since 2020, he has been a member of The Law Reviews Expert Panel.

Federico is a member of the Regulatory Commission of the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie B, founder of Olympialex.com, co-editor of the Olympialex Review, and co-founder of the CSDS – Sport Law Research Center in memory of Lucio Colantuoni.
