Péter Barta
Partner Attorney, Tax advisor
Péter has been a dedicated member of the firm’s tax litigation and tax advisory team since 2014, and since January 2026 he has participated in the firm’s advisory work as a partner.
Already during his university studies, he gained professional experience in the fields of fiscal and tax law. After obtaining his law degree, he joined a Big Four tax advisory firm, where he assisted attorneys in tax litigation matters and in the development of tax structures.
He later continued his career at Jalsovszky, where for the past 12 years he has represented taxpayers in tax authority proceedings, tax litigation, and criminal proceedings, gaining experience in nearly 300 tax-related cases. In addition, Péter is actively involved in tax advisory work and also participates in civil litigation matters. Beyond his professional expertise, he places strong emphasis on making legal submissions clear and accessible, their visual presentation, and the psychology of courtroom advocacy. He considers his greatest achievements to be those cases where the tax authority realizes already during the audit phase that it has misjudged the taxpayer, or when courts quote passages from his previous submissions as memorable references.
In 2017, Péter received the Wolters Kluwer “Young Talented Lawyer of the Year” award.
Péter holds degrees in both law and economics, and is also qualified as a certified tax expert and accountant.
