Julia Mascini, lawyer at BUREN, specialises in intellectual property law and media and advertising law. She supports clients throughout the entire lifecycle of their activities – from strategic clearance and positioning advice to representation in complex cross-border infringement proceedings.

Julia has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating IP-driven agreements, including licensing, distribution, franchise and other cooperation and exploitation agreements. In addition, she is regularly involved in IP structuring projects and IP-intensive mergers and acquisitions. She frequently represents clients before the Advertising Code Committee and advises companies on the legal aspects of commercial communications.

A significant part of Julia’s practice focuses on clients in the arts sector, including museums, gallery owners, artists and investors. She advises on the careful and innovative exploitation of art, including the integration of new artistic and commercial formats. She also advises organisations on the implementation and regulation of artificial intelligence, with particular attention to intellectual property, liability and corporate governance issues.

Julia studied law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Keele University (UK), graduating in 2013. In 2020, she completed the leading specialist postgraduate programme in Intellectual Property and Procedural Law at the Mr S.K. Martens Academy in Amsterdam.
