Partner, co-head of the M&A, Corporate and Employment practice in Estonia

Sven Papp is a corporate and M&A lawyer with more than 25 years of experience advising on domestic and cross‑border transactions across the Baltic and Nordic regions.

His background includes work as an early partner at a leading Baltic law firm, as well as international private practice with White & Case in New York and Stockholm and with the Swedish‑French strategic management consulting firm SIAR‑Bossard in Stockholm. He has also gained in‑house experience as General Counsel of Swedish Match East Europe.

The focus of his practice is on both domestic and multi‑jurisdictional mandates. He is recognised by Chambers & Partners, IFLR1000, Legal 500, Lexology and Best Lawyers.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁-𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠&𝗔 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Over the past 25 years, Sven has acted as lead counsel on more than 2,000 local and international M&A transactions across the Baltic and Nordic regions.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. Sven has gained international experience as an attorney at White & Case in New York and Stockholm, as well as an associate legal counsel at SIAR-Bossard in Stockholm, and as General Counsel of Swedish Match East Europe.

𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲. Sven is a recognised expert in corporate governance and has served as a board member and/or corporate secretary to major companies, including Eesti Energia, Eesti Post, Swedish Match, Estonian Telecom (now Telia Eesti), among others. He has also lectured on corporate governance topics at the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance and is a member of the Business Law Committee of the Estonian Bar Association.

𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Sven is a long-standing member of the Listing and Supervisory Committee of the Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange and has served as its Chairman for the past five years.
