In Energy & Resource Management, advising Boom Power on a 400MW solar farm in East Yorkshire, East Sussex Waste Partnership on a multimillion pound contract extension with Biffa, Hackney Council on its pioneering solar panel project and the Crown Commercial Service on its scheme to simplify the procurement of electric vehicle infrastructure for local authorities.
Central & Local Government led on projects including a £119m investment in education and training for Cardiff and Vale College and Welsh Government, and were successful in a landmark High Court appeal for The Ramblers to protect public right of way.
Housing advised Platform Housing Group on its annual Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) Programme, which has been doubled to £2 billion to provide future funding for sustainability initiatives. We also supported housing provider VIVID on a new £100 million facility agreement with HSBC.
Bevan Brittan’s market-leading health specialists worked on a wide range of deals including a trio of acquisitions for Mysa Care, investment manager Downing’s first acquisitions in the neuro-rehabilitation care home sector and a new major care village project in Surrey on behalf of CHD Living.
Additionally the business provided pro bono advice to the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine on a landmark anonymity ruling, were reappointed to the Financial Conduct Authority’s Legal Services Framework, acted for Canal and River Trust on a multimillion pound land sale, and secured a place on University of Essex’s legal services framework.
Responsible Business
Increased investment in Responsible Business has led to the appointments of a Board Lead, Head of Responsible Business and Environmental Sustainability Manager. With all offices now powered entirely by renewable energy, and a target to reach Net Zero by 2040, Bevan Brittan will publish its first Responsible Business Report later this year.
