Matthieu De Donder is admitted as Avocat with the Brussels Bar and registered as a foreign lawyer on list IV of the Luxembourg Bar. He is a Partner at MOLITOR, in the Corporate and M&A department.

Matthieu has extensive experience advising, as lead counsel and local counsel, clients on domestic and cross-border corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, and restructurings, with a particular focus on private capital clients. He has a strong track record of acting for US and European private capital firms, including leading private equity and real estate sponsors, family offices, and institutional investors. His practice spans the full investment cycle, from structuring and managing Luxembourg investment platforms to advising on acquisitions and disposals, fundraisings, joint ventures, and management incentive plans. Before joining MOLITOR in March 2025, Matthieu spent a decade at magic circle firms in Luxembourg and trained at leading Belgian and Benelux law firms.

Matthieu speaks English and French.

Matthieu obtained a master's degree in law at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium in 2010, after completing his bachelor's degree in law at the same university in 2008. He then obtained an LLM at Queen Mary, University of London in 2011.
