Personal
Martin is a partner in Hammarskiöld’s Financial Regulations practice group. He advises banks, payments companies, fintechs, investment firms, asset managers and insurance companies on the entire range of financial services regulatory matters.
Martin has over 15 years of experience across the spectrum of Swedish and EU regulation, including banking regulations, PSD2, MiFID II, AIFMD, UCITS and insurance regulations. He is well known for helping clients navigate the complexities of financial regulations while emphasizing practical, business-focused solutions. He appreciates the particular challenge that regulated firms face when operating cross-border and keeps operational realities at the forefront when advising.
In addition, Martin has extensive transactional experience, having advised on financial services M&A for over 15 years. He draws upon his transactional experience in helping clients navigate the financial regulatory aspects arising in the context of acquisitions of regulated businesses as well as reorganizations and exits, including financial regulatory due diligence and change-in-control procedures.
Prior to joining Hammarskiöld, Martin was a Corporate / M&A partner at a global law firm, where he was head of the Nordic financial services regulatory practice. Martin also has in-house experience as general counsel for a leading Sweden-based hedge fund group.
