Diversity

Being committed to a high professional standard in its primary activity does not prevent Gárdos Mosonyi Tomori Law Office from being socially responsible. As the members of the law office share a common view in terms of the protection of fundamental rights, the importance of social responsibility, education of future generation and work-life balance, they actively engage in various projects in order to make things better.

Gárdos Mosonyi Tomori Law Office continuously offers legal services to people or organisations who otherwise cannot afford to turn to lawyers. Such legal help is provided, eg for small municipalities who are in need of professional legal expertise. We provide them with legal advice in relation to property law issues, labour law issues or matters relating to contract law.

We were honoured that along with lawyers from other law firms, we could provide the Chance for Children Foundation with pro bono legal advice in a claim for damages on behalf of 75 gypsy children from Gyöngyöspata. These children were segregated in the primary school and the state denied giving them a remedy. It was a great achievement that based on our claim for the compensation of damages for the infringement of their personality rights, and for the loss of chance that occurred due to their segregation; both the court of first instance and the court of second instance awarded damages to the children.

Gárdos Mosonyi Tomori Law Office is devoted to the education of new generation of lawyers on various platforms. Members and lawyers of the law office therefore hold lectures at Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Law, Pázmány Péter Catholic University and Corvinus University, at the Budapest Institute of Banking and at the International Training Center for Bankers. Besides that, regular seminars are held for market participants in order to ensure compliance with regulation and to share good practice in the market.

The Law Office shares the view that granting a healthy work-life balance is indispensable in today’s world. Colleagues are therefore encouraged to live with the option of flexible working conditions, including home-office, and parents who raise children are granted with the opportunity of part-time jobs.
