Career

Fulya Kurar focuses on international investment and commercial arbitration as well as cross-border litigation. She acts as counsel and arbitrator in proceedings under ICSID, ICC, LCIA, VIAC, Vietnam International Arbitration Centre, ISTAC and UNCITRAL rules, representing a diverse range of clients including energy and construction companies, multinational technology and automotive firms, GSM operators, government entities, retailers and media service providers.

Fulya's practice encompasses bilateral investment treaty claims, contentious construction and energy matters, sales and distribution agreements, joint venture disputes, product liability and unfair competition cases. She has extensive experience in recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, setting aside proceedings, and pre-litigation alternative settlement procedures. She collaborates closely with international legal teams, quantum experts, quantity surveyors, and third-party funders worldwide.

Fulya Kurar has been appointed as the Regional Representative for the Middle East by the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) for the terms 2023-2025 and 2025-2027. In 2024, she was appointed to the Sustainability Commission of the Istanbul Arbitration Centre (ISTAC).

She holds LL.M degrees in International Commercial Dispute Resolution and International Commercial Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (honours) and the University Paris Est-Créteil (valedictorian), and is a graduate and ambassador of the International Arbitration Academy and a graduate of Galatasaray University Faculty of Law. She also holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Istanbul University.

Fulya has been recognized for excellence in Dispute Resolution practice and ranked as “Next Generation Partner” by the Legal 500 (2025) and as “Rising Star” (2022-2024) for Dispute Resolution practice. She has also been recognized in Legal 500’s Dispute Resolution Private Practice Powerlist (2023) and shortlisted for Benchmark Litigation Europe’s Central & Eastern Europe Future Stars Award (2025).
