Yonca Çelebi helps clients protect, enforce, and commercialize their intellectual property rights in Turkey. She has a remarkable litigation record representing large corporations in sectors such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, beauty care, fashion, and automotive. Yonca advises clients in both contentious proceedings and contractual negotiations involving intellectual property.

She has represented many prominent brands in complex, high-stakes disputes involving market entry barriers, counterfeit goods, trolls, and passing-off. Yonca regularly assists clients in enforcing their rights through infringement, invalidation, and non-declaratory judgment proceedings.

Beyond litigation, Yonca negotiates and drafts a broad range of IP-related agreements, including licensing, ownership assignment, coexistence, and tradesecret protection arrangements. She attentively aligns legal protections with clients’ commercial objectives and ensures thorough understanding of the local regulatory environment.

Yonca advises on unique and complex issues related to licensing plant-related patents, including Plant Variety Protection (PVPs), as well as the registration and maintenance of Plant Breeders’ Rights, plant varieties.

Her expertise extends to brand restrictions and advertising law, with a focus on strictly regulated industries such as alcohol and tobacco. She provides clients with expert guidance on compliance with advertising regulations, including digital platforms and required content amendments.

Yonca made her debut in the World Trademark Review (WTR) and has since earned acclaim from clients for her extensive expertise and client-centric approach. She is an active member of the International Trademark Association’s Brand Restrictions Committee, where she contributes to navigating complex regulatory challenges and advancing best practices in trademark protection.
