Career

Burak Baydar advises clients on all aspects of dispute resolution, from the early stages of a conflict through to courtroom representation and the enforcement of judgments. His broad experience covers a wide range of contentious matters, including corporate and commercial disputes, agency and distribution conflicts, insurance and liability claims, real estate and construction, contractual claims, professional negligence, debt collection, and insolvency and restructuring. He frequently assists in cross-border disputes and cases involving high values, complex liability, or significant penalties.

His approach focuses not only on the legal aspects but also on the broader business and industry context of each matter. He works closely with clients to develop tailored strategies aimed at de-escalating disputes, negotiating practical solutions, and minimizing operational disruption. This includes effectively conducting settlement negotiations to achieve amicable resolutions, both before and after a formal dispute arises.

Burak is also highly experienced in defending corporate executives and companies in investigations and prosecutions related to white-collar crimes, including fraud, fraudulent bankruptcy, criminal breach of trust, and negligent injury. He has provided legal counsel to both accused parties and victims in these matters.

He advises a wide range of domestic and international companies, particularly in the insurance, electronics, retail, industrial, manufacturing, maritime, and energy sectors.

He is the country representative of INSOL Europe and is active in various sectoral associations. Burak also worked as a Visiting Foreign Lawyer at WilmerHale in London, one of the world’s leading dispute-focused practices, where he contributed to arbitration-focused projects within the International Arbitration Practice Group.
