Career

Adv. Ira Hardy is a partner in the dispute resolution department at S. Horowitz.

Ira represents international and domestic corporations as well as governmental bodies in complex litigation cases, involving commercial and civil disputes, including contractual conflicts across a wide range of matters, with particular expertise in the fields of energy, high-tech, and real estate.

Since joining S. Horowitz in 2015, where he completed his internship and qualified as an Israeli advocate in 2016, Ira has developed unique expertise in representing clients in complex constitutional and administrative litigation. He has been involved in several landmark and high-profile petitions before the Israeli Supreme Court (sitting as the High Court of Justice), including the petition against the legislative amendment altering the judicial selection process, filed on behalf of leading figures from Israeli academia, and the petition challenging the government’s decision regarding the appointment process of the Civil Service Commissioner, filed on behalf of the Histadrut (New General Workers’ Federation). Additionally, Ira represents clients in complex administrative and regulatory matters, both in petitions before various judicial instances and in proceedings before diverse regulatory authorities.

In this context, Ira combines his legal practice with extensive academic activity, serving as a researcher at the Center for Applied Research on Democratic Risks at Tel Aviv University and at the Brandeis Institute for Economics, Society and Democracy at the College of Management. Ira’s academic and research activities provide him with a unique theoretical understanding, a multidisciplinary perspective, and a profound familiarity with the scholarly literature, all of which he integrates into his litigation practice.
