Position

Lawyer since 1994, Christophe Jacomin is the partner in charge of the banking and finance departement of the firm. He is involved in both advisory and litigation matters related to financing, financial engineering, banking law and financial and insurance regulations.

He advises credit institutions, financial institutions, insurance companies, debt funds, and lending investment funds, as well as large French or international corporate borrowers. He is involved in structuring, drafting, and negotiating documentation related to structured financing, project financing, renewable energy, infrastructure, acquisitions, commodities, real estate, and assets. He is involved in debt refinancing and restructuring, advising on derivatives (particularly in the fields of energy and commodities), bond issuances, documentary credits, international guarantees, portfolio debt sales, financial product marketing, and regulatory advice in banking and finance.

Finally, he supports regulated institutions in their dealings with regulatory authorities, during on-site control missions by regulators, the implementation of remediation plans, and if necessary, during disciplinary procedures.

Career

Christophe Jacomin began his career as an assistant to the Director General at the General Secretariat of the Banking Commission—now the ACPR—where he was responsible for supervising major French banks, before going on to work as a lawyer in the Banking and Finance department at the law firm Giroux Buhagiar et associés. He then joined the Banking and Finance department at Gide Loyrette Nouel, where he progressed to oversee banking and financial activities in Russia and the CIS from the Moscow office. Christophe Jacomin subsequently spent 17 years at Lefèvre-Pelletier et Associés – LPA-CGR as a partner in charge of Banking and Finance. In addition to his technical expertise and as a member of the firm’s Executive Board, he contributed to its international expansion by opening offices in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Before joining HERALD, Christophe served as a partner in the Banking and Finance practice at Jeantet.

He is an IFEJI Legal Expert and a former Deputy Director in the General Secretariat of the French Banking Commission (the current ACPR), in charge of the supervision of of major French banks.

Education

Christophe Jacomin graduated with honors from the Institute of Political Studies (IEP), Public Service section. He holds a Master's degree (DEA) in Business Law from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris I) and a Master's degree (DEA) in Public Law from the Panthéon-Assas University (Paris II).
