Career

Jean Pierre Scerri is one of the region’s leading telecommunications and regulatory lawyers, with more than 25 years’ experience advising telecommunications operators, technology companies, regulators and governments on complex regulatory, competition and commercial matters across Europe and the Middle East.

His practice focuses on telecommunications regulation, competition law, merger control, spectrum management, digital infrastructure, data protection, cybersecurity, public procurement and technology transactions.

Jean Pierre brings a unique perspective, having held senior legal and regulatory positions with telecommunications operators, multinational communications providers, government agencies and regulatory authorities, including serving as General Counsel of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Bahrain.

He has advised on some of the most significant telecommunications and regulatory projects in the region, including market liberalisation initiatives, spectrum awards, legal separation projects, broadband infrastructure frameworks, competition investigations and regulatory reforms.

Education

Jean Pierre graduated as a Doctor of Laws and subsequently obtained a Magister Juris in European Union Law. He later pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Queen Mary University of London. He is also admitted as an Advocate before the Ecclesiastical Tribunals of Malta.
