Commercial

John is a Partner heading up the Commercial department and continues to oversee significant growth in the department. This has resulted in the further expansion of the team’s personnel and the subsuming of the ‘Governance, Procurement and Information’ department into the Commercial team.  The growth of the department has made it recognised as the region’s most specialist Commercial offering outside of the cities and resulted in work towards the implementation of sub-teams.

John is the Head of Forbes’ Manufacturing & Engineering sector group and takes an active role in Forbes’ Construction sector group and wider business development, particularly with regards the firm’s sponsorship of the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s International Trade Club and its membership of LawPact.  With regards LawPact, John maintains his role on the board of directors and is the firm’s lead representative for this network, coordinating referrals in and out.

John’s work within the Commercial team relates predominantly to contractual, intellectual property and construction-related matters and he regularly assists clients with trading on a domestic and international basis.  John’s ability to retain clients and reignite those who have become ‘dormant’ makes him a key player in managing Forbes’s SME client book and successfully nurturing those clients ready for large transactions.
