Karen specialised in licensing and regulatory law, advising a broad range of clients including pubs, clubs, hotels, shops, hostels, and outdoor events. She handled applications for premises licences, personal licences, variations, temporary event notices, and represented clients at hearings and licensing appeals. Karen also provided regulatory advice, including noise abatement notices and prosecutions, and maintained strong working relationships with responsible authorities across England and Wales.

Karen joined Flint Bishop with experience in child protection, trading standards, litigation, and licensing for local government, which gave her a strong advocacy and regulatory foundation. She advised both licensing committees and licence holders, giving her unique insight into the licensing process. Over her career, she became known for her pragmatic advice, achieving outcomes efficiently for clients while ensuring compliance with complex regulations. Karen has now retired.
