Asim is a Partner and Head of the Litigation Department at BSA Law, based in the firm’s Dubai office. He has extensive knowledge of legal systems across the GCC and MEA regions, with particular expertise in both the UAE and Sudanese court systems and their applicable laws. Asim provides succinct, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice, delivering clear-cut solutions to his clients’ challenges. His areas of expertise span real estate, commercial, finance, bankruptcy, maritime, and telecommunications matters.

As Head of Litigation, Asim oversees and manages a large team of lawyers specialising in a broad range of legal areas, including employment, insurance, rental, construction, and family law.

Asim’s compelling and well-reasoned arguments before the UAE courts have contributed to the development and application of key legal principles, many of which have been elevated to binding precedents. These have shaped litigation practice and established enduring conventions within the domestic legal community. He regularly handles arbitrations and represents clients before the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) as well as other alternative dispute resolution forums.

Practicing since 1991 across multiple jurisdictions, Asim has rights of audience before both the superior and lower courts in Sudan. He is also licensed by the Chief Justice of Sudan to act as a Commissioner for Oaths, with authority to draft contracts and agreements, authenticate and attest the execution of documents, and administer oaths.

Asim moved to the GCC to expand his litigation practice, gaining significant experience before courts across the region. His bilingual fluency in Arabic and English enhances his ability to represent both multinational and local clients effectively.
