Markus Kokko
Partner Markus Kokko regularly advises major domestic and international clients on dispute resolution and corporate crime cases. Markus has in-depth experience of domestic and international corporate and commercial disputes and he has acted as lead counsel in numerous extensive cases. Markus also has an exceptional track record in handling a broad range of litigation and arbitration cases. In addition Markus frequently advises companies and executives in relation to complex corporate crime cases and criminal investigations regarding, inter alia, insider trading, environmental violations, corruption, imports and exports and tax.
Markus heads the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration and Corporate Crime teams.

Kristiina Liljedahl
Partner Kristiina Liljedahl advises on dispute resolution, including litigation and arbitration, as well as on employment law and marketing law. Kristiina represents clients in relation to a variety of claims in domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration, including ad hoc arbitration proceedings and institutional arbitration proceedings. Her practice ranges in several business sectors and covers, for example, IT and telecommunications, international trade, mining, services and consultancy services.

Jari Gadd
Partner Jari Gadd is head of Borenius’ Tampere office. Jari advises clients on a wide range of issues relating to mergers and acquisitions, construction and real estate law and intellectual property law. He has assisted clients, for example, in the manufacturing industry and high-technology sectors. Jari has represented numerous clients in disputes regarding commercial and construction contracts, patents and other intellectual properties. He also represents clients in arbitration proceedings. Jari is an accredited mediator of the Finnish Bar Association.

Tero Kovanen
Partner Tero Kovanen advises on questions related to dispute resolution. In addition to litigation and arbitration, Tero also has knowledge on alternative dispute resolution, particularly mediation. He is specialised in liability issues relating to contracts and damages.

Jani Syrjänen
Partner Jani Syrjänen advises international and domestic clients in all employment law and pension & benefits related questions including also occupational safety, discrimination and immigration matters. Jani has extensive experience in litigating employment law matters; negotiating and drafting top management agreements, company policies and procedures; as well as advising employers confronting a wide range of employment law issues including, inter alia, outsourcing, reorganizations and redundancies.

Kaisa Voutilainen
Counsel Kaisa Voutilainen Kaisa advises on dispute resolution and insolvency related questions. She represents clients in major litigations related to damages and contractual issues as well as in matters regarding bankruptcy estates and related actions for recovery. In addition, Kaisa has experience in advising companies and executives in relation to complex corporate crime cases and criminal investigations regarding, inter alia, environmental violations, misappropriation of funds and securities market offences.

Robert Peldán
Partner Robert Peldán advises on insolvency and dispute resolution. Robert has substantial experience in advising companies, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders on a variety of liquidations, distressed situations, and complex restructuring matters. During his career, Robert has engaged in more than 800 insolvency and corporate related tasks and has acted as administrator in bankruptcies and restructurings. In addition to legal insolvency proceedings, Robert has also participated in several voluntary restructurings advising both the creditors and the distressed companies.

Ben Rapinoja
Partner Ben Rapinoja is a renowned litigator in patent, trademark and intellectual property matters in Finland and an expert in the field of intellectual property, technology law and Market Court proceedings. Ben advises on contractual and licensing arrangements, brands and marketing law related matters, commercial disputes, and corporate transactions in electronics and high-tech industries. His expertise also covers legal issues related to the pharmaceutical industry, health technology and life science sectors. Ben has extensive experience in patent and intellectual property litigation as well as in contractual disputes and arbitration proceedings concerning ICT and high-tech companies.

Jemina Bonsdorff
Jemina advises our clients on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters as well as in the fields of technology and commercial contracts.
Jemina regularly assists well-known brand owners and clients with the drafting of commercial agreements, brand protection and licensing as well as other commercial matters related to e.g. e-commerce, marketing and consumer laws. She is also well versed in copyright matters.
During her career, Jemina has gained significant experience in IP litigation and arbitration, having assisted our clients in several high-profile cases involving trademarks, copyright, patents, unfair business practices and trade secrets both before the Finnish Market Court and higher courts. She regularly advises our clients on and represents them in infringement and revocation actions, preliminary injunction proceedings and actions for damages.
Jemina’s expertise also covers regulatory matters, particularly those relating to pharmaceuticals and medical devices as well as foodstuffs. She has also been involved in several M&A transactions where she provided advice on issues related to IP, IT and commercial contracts.

Lasse Laaksonen
Partner Lasse Laaksonen specialises in both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property and technology law. He has wide-ranging experience in litigation and strategic contractual issues, such as outsourcing, procurement and licensing. Lasse’s practice has a strong emphasis on contentious work having acted as a lead counsel in a number of high-profile patent, trademark, unfair competition and competition cases. In addition, Lasse has acted as a lead counsel in a number of significant arbitral proceedings with a link in IP or technology issues. Lasse heads the firm’s IP & Commercial team.

Emma Niemistö
Partner Emma Niemistö advises our clients on construction and project law assignments. She focuses on major industrial and infrastructure investments, construction and engineering mandates, as well as real estate development and dispute resolution. A large part of her work also includes advisory services relating to EPC(M) projects, under the FIDIC suites or similar international forms of contracts.
Emma has long-standing experience in negotiating and drafting complex project agreements and providing risk and claims management advice relating to our clients’ critical projects and strategic investments. She benefits from her unique technical background in her advisory role; with a Master of Science degree in Construction Economics and Management from the Helsinki University of Technology, she draws from her understanding of project management and industrial/technical processes to get a strong handle on contract risks in demanding projects.
On contentious mandates Emma represents clients in litigation and arbitration proceedings, and also acts as arbitrator in construction and supply contract disputes.
Emma has also authored books on construction management contracting and contractors’ guarantee liabilities and is a sought-after speaker on topics related to construction law and dispute management.

Vilma Haavisto
Vilma regularly advises clients on domestic and international commercial dispute resolution matters. She has been involved in numerous cases before arbitral tribunals (ICC and FAI) and Finnish general courts. She has gained experience in intricate project delivery and investment disputes as well as disputes relating to the energy sector. In addition to commercial dispute resolution, Vilma represents clients in corporate crime matters.
