Wikborg Rein > The Legal 500 RankingsWikborg Rein has cemented its position in the market with ‘its deep knowledge of the shipping industry on both wet and dry matters,’ including a significant number of casualties and maritime disputes. It also continues to evolve its standing in transactional and project matters, including in the offshore segment; specialist counsel Lesley Tan has transferred to Singapore from London to reinforce this side of the practice. The Singapore team has an impressive client base of international shipowners and insurers. Ina Lutchmiah leads the transactional practice in Asia Pacific, with a particular focus on LNG projects and offshore energy transactions. Robert Joiner impresses in dry side shipping disputes.
‘Wikborg Rein’s strength lies in its deep knowledge of the shipping industry on both wet and dry matters, the calibre and responsiveness of its lawyers and their focus on the underlying commercial issues.’
‘The team is small but punches above its weight in providing a high level of service and support to clients.’
‘The main reason for instructing WR in my cases is that they have an outstanding knowledge of the trio: Norway-UK-Singapore(Asia). They have good knowledge and contacts locally and at the same time understand the Norwegian market and the English law. WR has built a network of offices worldwide with skilled lawyers that operate as a team regardless of where they are located providing advice, support and flexibility whenever needed.’
‘Ina Lutchmiah is not only a good lawyer, but very solution oriented and focuses on finding a sensible way forward instead of being caught up in the issues.’
‘Matthew Dow was recommended to me by a colleague. Mathew has shown good legal skills, management of expectations and coordination of the various stakeholders (in different jurisdictions-cultural background), shown availability at all times and providing clear and timely reporting skills.’
