Gervais is a partner in Schjodt's Finance group, specialising in Asset/Project Finance and Maritime Projects. He has advised on a wide range of projects, including limited recourse financings (particularly in the offshore oil and gas, renewables/commodities and shipping sectors). He has extensive experience in syndicated and structured debt financing, cross-border leasing and off-balance sheet structures, receivables transactions, shipbuilding/FPSO/rig construction/conversion contracts, Islamic financing and export credit financing (including JBIC/NEXI, KEXIM/KSURE, CHINAEXIM, SINOSURE, SACE and COFACE structured transactions).

Gervais was rated as a Senior Statesman in the 2014 edition of Chambers Global and is rated as an Eminent Practitioner in global shipping finance in the current (2016) edition. He was also awarded Finance Lawyer of the Year at the inaugural Asian Lawyer's Emerging Markets Awards 2014.
