Advises on all aspects of intellectual property law, including IP portfolio management, clearance, registration, defence, enforcement and the strategic protection of intellectual property rights. She advises on IP due diligences as well as the commercialisation of IP rights by way of licences, assignments, franchising, sponsorship, research and development, collaboration and non-disclosure agreements. She also provides strategic advice to clients in complex IP disputes as well as litigates such disputes before the Courts.
Advises on artificial intelligence, including compliance with the EU AI Act, issues relating to text and data mining, copyright and ownership considerations relating to AI-generated outputs, AI-related infringement risks and the protection of IP rights when using AI and AI procurement and contracting.
Advises on data protection law which includes GDPR compliance, data subject access requests, international data transfers, regulatory complaints and appeals, freedom of information matters and data breach management.
RECENT WORK HIGHLIGHTS

Advises a global beverage company in respect of the management of its IP portfolio in Ireland to including clearing and registering brands

Advising an indigenous company in the food industry in respect of a threatened passing off dispute

Advising Triviumvet DAC in respect of the registration, strategic protection and management of its trade mark portfolio

Advised an indigenous project management building company in respect of various data protection related matters including data access requests

Advising an international healthcare company on various legal issues ranging from protection and registration of its IP rights to compliance with local data protection law (including amending data processing agreements and revising patient-facing documents)

Advised a state-sponsored organisation on compliance with data protection and freedom of information law which included amending data sharing and data processing agreements to comply with the GDPR as well as advised on data access requests;

Advising a national professional representative and educational body on a broad range of intellectual property, data protection and artificial intelligence matters, with a particular emphasis on protecting, preserving and maximising the value of its intellectual property assets in an increasingly digital and AI-driven environment

Advised a company on the legal implications and risks of using certain generative AI tools to record and minute board meetings as well as provided practical guidance on risk mitigation and governance safeguards

Advising Body & Soul Event Creations on all IP issues ranging from the protection, enforcement and strategic management of its IP rights to filing oppositions proceedings internationally as well as negotiating settlements

Working with the private client team to advise a renowned international musician/songwriter on the estate and succession planning of a significant portfolio of IP and other assets which includes auditing copyright and related rights, reviewing ownership and royalty arrangements and advising on the protection, management and transfer of valuable creative assets
