Hannes Snellman, which 'takes care of legal matters in a professional, careful and diplomatic way', recently advised Goldman Sachs International on the mezzanine financing of Blackstone's €3.9bn acquisition of Sponda and assisted EQT Partners UK Advisors with the financing of Keensight Capital's investment in Biovian. Other clients include Nordea Bank, Finavia and Lemminkäinen. The practice is led by Markus Bremer, and Henrik Mattson heads up the team across Finland and Sweden.
Sten Olsson heads Hannes Snellman's M&A practice, which recently advised Lemminkäinen on its merger with YIT and assisted Vaaka Partners with its sale of Solita to the Apax Digital Fund. Managing partner Mikko Heinonen also led advice to NPAC Holdings on its sale of Powerflute Group Holdings to a division of the Mondi Group for €365m. The 'very practical' team at Hannes Snellman recently represented the Polish government in proceedings relating to an investment treaty arbitration award; the 'extremely competent and thorough' Anders Bygglin also defended Paf in an investigation into alleged money laundering. Tapio Teräkivi leads Hannes Snellman's real estate practice, which recently advised Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management on the €164m acquisition of its headquarters in Espoo and acted for Areim Fund III on its acquisition of an office property portfolio. Other key clients include Scandic Hotels, Kojamo and NCC Property Development. Maria Landtman is recommended for project and construction work, while Klaus Metsä-Simola specialises in environmental law.

Hannes Snellman's practice is led by Klaus Ilmonen and primarily specialises in ECM work; it recently advised Altia and Terveystalo on their respective IPOs. The tax team at Hannes Snellman recently assisted a client with its challenge to a decision to include bank loans in the calculation of real estate transfer taxes, while practice head Heikki Vesikansa led advice to Ahlstrom on tax structuring issues relating to its statutory merger with Munksjö.
