Tero Tuomisto leads the practice at Castrén & Snellman; he recently advised Pihlajalinna on a five year €120m unsecured financing arrangement and acted for Nordea Bank on the financing of Apax Digital Fund's acquisition of Solita. Managing partner Sakari Lukinmaa also assisted OP Corporate Bank with its €200m refinancing of Kolsin Voima. The group also counts Danske Bank, Finnlines and Ilmarinen as clients. Dispute resolution Tier 1
Castrén & Snellman's practice defended forestry company Stora Enso against damages claims relating to cartel activities, acted for Asfaltmix in a large follow-on damages case, and represented Google in matters pertaining to data protection and privacy law. Marko Hentunen and Anders Forss jointly head the practice, which 'brings to bear significant experience'. 'Heavy hitter' Tuomas Lehtinen is recommended for his experience in arbitration work, while senior associate Jerker Pitkänen has 'an uncanny ability to identify and analyse the facts'.

The practice is also acting in several of the market's largest follow-on damages claims, representing clients including Asfaltmix and Valio. Practice head Sari Hiltunen is singled out as 'one of a kind', while procurement specialist Anna Kuusniemi-Laine is 'exceptionally skilled'. Newly promoted partner Jussi Nieminen and 'rising star' associate Suzanne Simon-Bellamy are also key names to note.
Intellectual property Tier 1
Recent highlights for Castrén & Snellman include successfully representing BBS in a trade mark dispute with a Finnish hubcap manufacturer and advising Crocs on its IP enforcement and customs seizure matters. Other key clients include Merck, Google, Alma Media and BMW. Sakari Salonen heads up the practice, while European trade mark and design attorney Nina Mikander is recommended for IP prosecution matters and Hanna Paloheimo is noted for her expertise in the life sciences sector.
Maritime and transport Tier 1
Castrén & Snellman's 'extremely high-level' team is active in maritime disputes and is also noted for its prominent vessel financing practice; the group advised Finnlines on the financing of the purchase of a passenger vessel by its subsidiary. The practice is led by Niklas Langenskiöld, while Tero Tuomisto handles financing matters; the 'extraordinarily good' Rickard Langenskiöld is also a key name to note.
TMT Tier 1
Castrén & Snellman's 'very strong' team recently acted for Silta in an ad hoc arbitration regarding independent data usage by IT service providers and acted for Google in privacy disputes as well as advising it on licensing and regulatory issues. Other key clients include Metso and Oriola. Pia Ek and the 'approachable' Eija Warma-Lehtinen jointly lead the team and handle TMT and data protection matters respectively; technology law expert Kimmo Rekola is also recommended.

At Castrén & Snellman, environment and infrastructure specialist Matias Wallgren advised Nord Stream 2 on the construction of two underwater natural gas pipelines. Tax Tier 2
