Peter Aall Simonsen specialises in renewable energy development, infrastructure finance, and corporate restructuring matters.

Peter possesses extensive expertise in project development and financing across the energy sector. His practice encompasses wind power developments, hydroelectric projects, biomass facilities, and energy interconnector schemes. Peter regularly advises on power purchase agreements and manages sophisticated multi-jurisdictional project financings for clients including institutional investors, project sponsors, commercial lenders, and export credit institutions.

Peter maintains a robust banking and finance practice, with particular strength in asset-backed lending structures, corporate reorganisations, and distressed debt situations. He frequently serves in advisory capacities and accepts board appointments for companies navigating financial difficulties. His client base spans the full spectrum of energy and infrastructure stakeholders, from early-stage developers through to established institutional players seeking strategic counsel on complex transactions and regulatory matters.

His industry leadership extends beyond legal practice, having served as Chairman of the Norwegian Wind Energy Association (NORWEA) from 2014 to 2022 and currently sitting on the election committee of Renewables Norway (Fornybar Norge).
