Immigration in Regional Bar
Garden Court North Chambers
Garden Court North Chambers is home to one of the largest immigration teams in the Northern Circuit, and it's barristers are 'leaders in their field'. The team has experience at all levels of the court system on complex asylum and human right appeals and regularly works with vulnerable clients that are victims of trafficking. Tom Royston recently handled a case on the EU Worker Registration Scheme, which proceeded to the Supreme Court where the Secretary of State’s appeal was dismissed in 2019. Kerry Smith is currently acting in an appeal before the Upper Tribunal in respect of the humanitarian conditions in Gaza and whether such conditions breach Article 3.
The team at Kenworthy's Chambers has an 'enormous breadth of experience and skills' and deliver first-class advocacy in all aspects of asylum and immigration law. Mark Schwenk recently represented an EEA national who successfully resisted deportation following a conviction for a serious criminal offence. George Brown successfully handled a case concerning the potential deportation of an Iraqi citizen that the Court of Appeal overruled.
