Al Busaidy, Mansoor Jamal & Co is headed by the ‘very helpful and cooperative’ senior partner Mansoor Jamal Malik, who has ‘in-depth knowledge and experience of the Omani legal market’, especially with regards to the financing and construction of hotels, business parks, leisure projects, retail centres, industrial sites and office buildings. Malik acted for the Meethaq Islamic Banking, the Islamic banking arm of Bank Muscat, in relation to a OMR29m musharakah-structured financing arrangement for the refinance of existing facilities with the Islamic banking arm of Bank Dhofar. Other clients include Oman Tourism Development Company and real estate developer Muscat Bay.

Dentons handles construction and development mandates involving hotels, industrial complexes and various infrastructure projects. Headed by Andrew Figgins, the ‘extremely helpful and well-informed team’ is advising Oman Investment Fund on the merger of a shopping mall and surrounding plots into a mixed-used commercial complex. Other key figures include ‘highly committed’ associate Yasser Taqi and David Courtney-Hatcher, ‘an excellent senior legal consultant', who has considerable experience of contentious and non-contentious construction matters.

Trowers & Hamlins LLP handles real estate transactions as well as project finance, development and construction in connection to hospitality and residential real estate, and transport and social infrastructure projects. Abdul-Haq Mohammed and Michael O’Reilly are key figures in the department. Dubai-based Peter Greatrex joined Clyde & Co LLP in January 2019.
