Founding partner Carlos Rivera acts as the firm’s lead architect for collective disputes and high-value negotiations, specialising in the design of downsizing and rightsizing processes across the pharma, insurance and food industries. Rivera leverages over 20 years of experience and his background as a negotiation professor at IESA to manage complex payroll restructurings, including mandates involving the dismissal of upwards of 1,000 workers. The firm is a specialist in managing hostile or complex union environments, recently facilitating multi-year collective bargaining agreements and defending against the inclusion of monthly payroll employees in collective contracts to contain costs. The practice is also defined by its expertise in Article 148 labour protection procedures and business unit closures, including the successful management of significant workforce reductions for mass consumption and tobacco entities. Beyond the industrial sectors, the firm provides jurisdictional defence and operational restructuring advice to international NGOs.
