Eugene Gorokhov focuses on federal criminal defense, with particular experience in complex white collar matters. He also represents physicians and medical professionals in licensure and disciplinary proceedings. He founded his own practice shortly after being admitted to the Bar and, in 2009, co-founded Burnham & Gorokhov, PLLC, where he handles high-stakes federal trials, investigations, sentencings, and appeals.
His representative experience includes securing multiple jury acquittals in federal fraud and health care cases; winning pretrial dismissal of all charges against a government contractor based on discovery violations and Speedy Trial Act grounds; and negotiating a favorable 18-month sentence in the high-profile Bitfinex cryptocurrency money laundering case, involving the largest asset seizure in U.S. history. He has also obtained dismissal of charges in significant FCPA, wire fraud, and counterfeit goods cases, successfully reversed a federal sentence on appeal before the Fourth Circuit, secured compassionate release reductions for individuals serving life sentences, and represented numerous executives, professionals, and other individuals in federal investigations resulting in no charges filed.
