Dan Martin is an accomplished litigator and trial attorney with a proven track record of success in white-collar criminal defense, including cases involving the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other complex regulatory issues. He handles bet-the-company/bet-your-liberty cases on behalf of individuals and businesses under investigation or active prosecution by the Department of Justice (DOJ), including matters in which the DOJ seeks hundreds of millions of dollars in damages and penalties, as well as DOJ pursuits of felony convictions and prison time. Dan has secured favorable trial outcomes, favorable plea deals with no prison time, and favorable settlements at a small fraction of the government's original demands. He has also had significant success in persuading prosecutors to reconsider their position and decline to pursue criminal indictments or civil remedies against clients. Dan is skilled in navigating whistleblower matters and guiding clients through government investigations and enforcement actions, including responding to subpoenas, search warrants, and civil investigative demands (CIDs). Dan regularly conducts internal investigations involving highly sensitive matters and helps clients solve the very difficult and consequential questions posed by such matters, including whether and how to self-report.

Dan also focuses his practice on complex commercial and employment litigation, representing clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies, across industries such as healthcare, energy, banking, construction, and manufacturing, and in a wide variety of matters such as claims involving breach of contract, construction defects, fraud, tortious interference, wrongful death, non-competes, trade secrets, and product liability.
