Cooley LLP advises the likes of Vantage Data Centers, Brookfield Properties, and BXP, Inc. on a host of land use and zoning issues, including special exemptions, permits, approvals, zoning, and rezoning. Following Colleen Gillis‘s departure, Reston’s Mark Looney has taken the reins as sole departmental leader – he has considerable experience acquiring the necessary approvals for retail, industrial, mixed-use, and community projects. The team is supported by associate Amanda Williams who helps clients with development applications for data center and fiber optic conduit facility projects. Looney and Williams continue to represent the publicly traded company, Pulte Home Company, as it develops the active adult community, Montebello Farm. Despite controversy and opposition, the team managed to secure rezoning allowing the much-needed housing development.
