Government relations

The government affairs and public policy team at Steptoe LLP provides ‘legal, political and general strategic guidance with grace, swiftness and effectiveness’, drawing on team members’ experience in Congress, the Executive Branch, and industry. Its federal advocacy work spans tax policy, financial services and regulatory reform, trade, and cybersecurity matters, with growing emphasis on digital assets, blockchain, and clean energy tax incentives. Scott Sinder heads up the practice, particularly noted for his work with insurance agents and brokers. The ’absolutely terrific’ Jason Abel brings experience gained as Chief Counsel for the US Senate Rules Committee to his work across tax policy, privacy and cybersecurity, and election law: Abel is recommended for his ‘understanding of campaign finance’, which is ’second to none’.
