Work highlights
Advising the Diocese of Rockville Centre, which used a hybrid bankruptcy to protect itself, parishes, schools, and ministry, and to provide meaningful compensation to claimants after they faced hundreds of Child Victims Act abuse lawsuits.
Won a unanimous Fifth Circuit reversal in Sanchez Energy’s bankruptcy case, securing $700 million in Mesquite equity for it clients, the Ad Hoc Group. The Fifth Circuit held the Ad Hoc Secured Creditors were entitled to 100% equity under superpriority liens, rejected hypothetical section 550(a) claims, and applied the single-satisfaction rule because the liens were returned.
Represented Vintage Wine Estates and 11 subsidiaries through Chapter 11.
