Work highlights

Advising the Diocese of Rockville Centre, which used a hybrid bankruptcy to protect itself, parishes, schools, and ministry, and to provide meaningful compensation to claimants after they faced hundreds of Child Victims Act abuse lawsuits.

The Fifth Circuit held the Ad Hoc Secured Creditors were entitled to 100% equity under superpriority liens, rejected hypothetical section 550(a) claims, and applied the single-satisfaction rule because the liens were returned.
