Baker Botts L.L.P. has a significant presence in the restructuring and bankruptcy field, particularly in the energy and natural resources sector. The firm has worked on a series of chapter 11 bankruptcies, with its Dallas, Houston and New York offices having roles on a number of major engagements. Distressed and bankruptcy acquisitions are another forte for the team, along with cases that involve mass tort litigation claims. It represents a variety of debtors, creditors, acquirers and investors. Amongst a number of headline engagements, the team advised the special committee of the board of directors of Enviva in the restructuring of $2.63bn in debt. Dallas based Jim Prince chairs the financial restructuring practice, with Scott Bowling leading many of the firm’s key engagements from New York. Travis McRoberts has joined the Dallas office from Squire Patton Boggs.
