Tom Melsheimer

Managing partner of King & Spalding’s Dallas office and the firm’s global head of trial, Tom Melsheimer brings his extensive experience advising on a broad range of civil litigation work, including patent disputes and negligence and liability claims. He represented Ruel Hamilton, a Dallas-based real estate developer who was facing bribery and conspiracy charges, and successfully appealed in the Fifth Circuit, securing his acquittal on all counts. Furthermore, he defended Medtronic against a patent litigation case brought by TMT Systems relating to heart stents, which initially ended in a hung jury before being settled favorably and ruled as a judgment of non-infringement by Medtronic.
