Grant advises on federal, state and local tax matters, including tax implications of acquisitions and sales of businesses and private equity portfolio companies, and state and local tax matters. He also has substantial experience in taxable, tax-deferred and nontaxable business transactions, restructurings, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), employer tax withholding requirements, state and local sales tax, and tax aspects of financing transactions, including various credit facilities, asset-backed securitizations and transportation equipment financing.

Proactive and efficient, Grant optimizes deal structures, drafting and negotiating agreements to reduce tax risk. Corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, S corporations and individuals benefit from his practical guidance and ability to make complicated tax concepts readily understandable so they can make well-informed decisions.

Before joining Vedder, Grant gained valuable experience at PwC in the M&A tax group, assisting multinationals, partnerships and other flow-through entities, hedge funds and private equity firms with federal and state tax due diligence, distressed company restructuring and post-merger integration and tax planning for acquisitions and divestitures.
